Listen as Arlene shares her family's journey. Arlene grew up on a farm in western Kansas. Her parents starting homeschooling in 1985, and homeschooled Arlene for seven years until she graduated. Arlene and her husband have a blended family with five children. They live on a homestead with an acreage in western Kansas. She is a second generation homeschooler. She currently homeschools their three children living at home. They joined the special needs community when their youngest child was born with Down syndrome. They are eclectic homeschoolers, who lean more toward a Charlotte Mason approach.
